Running PX4 Autopilot system on MindRacer Gen.3
MindRacer Gen.3 hardware can unleash its full potential with PX4 autopilot system v1.14 and after.
Key features on PX4 includes:
1. Benefit from PX4 v1.14 supporting the "dynamic control allocation" feature, MindRacer Gen.3 is able to support maximum 14 PWM outputs (8 AUX channels + 6 FMU channels) from single FMU.
These outputs can be flexibly allocated as motor drivers or trigger/capture channels depends on vehicle types and missions.
2. MindRacer Gen.3 brings out ETH RMII interface to support ethernet capable on-vehicle components. Besides of using PHY chip to achieve communication, MindRacer Gen.3 support RMII direct
connection without PHY ICs in between.
3. MindRacer Gen.3 uses SPI3-MMCSD driver to support on-board TF card.
4. MindRacer Gen.3 adds support for new RGB LED driver IC (ktd202x from Kinetics).
5. MindRacer Gen.3 adds driver for external BEC output adjustment.
6. MindRacer Gen.3 implements on-board version and revision sensing by multiplex MDIO/MDC pins through external analog switch.
Currently Gen.3 includes 2 different models: Finch and Redpoll
- Finch is F765VIT6 based. The PX4 architecture referenced is V5.
- Redpoll is H743VIT6 based. The PX4 architecture referenced is V6.
The pin maps and board connectors are the same between Finch and Redpoll.
